Sincere, generous, of good humor, wise -- my Uncle John...I am grateful for the interest he showed in my life (and my huband's, daughter's, and son's) and what he shared - tomatoes from his garden, a car, golf clubs, grilled hamburgers...He gave me an example of how to live a good life of courage, companionship, service, and celebration. And his mustache...!

Sweet memories of my dear brother, from our happy childhood to our mature years. My family will miss your loving presence, but have fond memories of the many joyful vacations we spent together. I remember too, with warm gratitude, the wonderful way you and Dee opened your home to us all. I am so glad you are at peace, and look forward to seeing you again in the resurrection. Your loving sister, Dorothy.

Uncle John,
You were Dad to us Gladwins after our our dear father died in 1977. You & A. Dee were always generous hosts to the wandering Scottish side of the family as we came and went. In particular, you were my "sponsor" when I applied for my green card which allowed my to stay in the US & work. I will always be grateful for your help and support when needed. I like to remember you before your health started to fail...fiesty, independent, never wanting to grow up, as Grandma Frame, (your Mum,) always used to say. Always ready for a lark.
You will be missed, but like my mother, (your sister) I look forward to seeing you again in the resurrection. So, until then, dear Uncle....Hazel(niece)

Michelle and I were saddened to hear of his passing. When I think of my relationship with John at ETS I will always remember his great smile, and good humor. We are thinking of you.

Beloved Uncle, but more than that my second Dad. I am forever grateful for the advice, support and love that you shared with me and my family since coming to the US 19 years ago from our birth land of Scotland. You were always there for us through the good times and bad. I have so many wonderful memories of all the fun we all had as a family. I will not be able to be with you on Sunday, so I will have a special toast to you in Scotland remembering the fun times. You will be in my thoughts until we meet again and have a Scotch together.
Love always, Jacky.

Dad,
You are my hero. You are a man I admired for your strength, principle and compassion. I am proud to call you my Dad!
You were always there to take care of our family with your love and support and you were loved in return. The strength of the commitment you and Mom had for each other is a testament to the love you shared. I value and respect the commitment you showed each other until the very end.
You lived a great life creating memories of good times, fun and laughter that you enjoyed with your family and your many wonderful friends. You touched more lives that you probably ever imagined.
I will be forever grateful that you became a Grandpa and enjoyed three wonderful years with Dana. She loved her Grandpa and you two shared a bond that only few appreciate.
You endured so much these last few years with dignity and grace. I will forever miss you terribly but find comfort knowing you are at peace and finally sitting back enjoying the taste of that steak and beer.
Love always,
Janet

My brother, not brother-in-law, we miss you terribly. Thanks for all the happy memories; thanks for always being there for us. Even saying thanks is not enough because there was so much more. Heaven's gain is our loss. Til we meet again.

John is an Anchor House buddy who I worked with on many Anchor House Bike Rides. John, along with Bill Hogan, organized the Hotel Room Keys during the Bike Ride week so that at the end of the day Bikers and Support Crew could pick up their keys and find their room for that night. The question posed to John many a day on the Ride was,"Is my room ready?" Well, John, your room was ready immediately after you said good bye to us. I assume you are playing a little golf up in heaven right about now. Great guy, good memories, RIP - John.
